This collection explores the feelings that were ignited during the long-drawn-out days Freire spent at sea whilst crossing the Atlantic ocean. The paintings capture so many different emotions at a paralell with the ocean; feelings of longing, loss, sadness, joy, healing and calmness. There is nothing quite like being in the middle of the ocean looking out to the horizon, nothing else around you, just sea and sky. The ever-changing weather brings with it an array of colours and shapes, sometimes swirling and wild, other times still and tranquil.
